OZOwater is a next generation filtered water beverage company that intends to become the ubiquitous and desirable #1 alternative to bottled water. It addresses the opportunity to steal a share of the $16 billion bottled water category by making quality filtered water premium, personalized and always at hand.
OZOwater has been created in response to the growing mainstream backlash against bottled water. Consumers and the media are becoming increasingly aware of the environmental problems of bottled water. Eight out of ten plastic water bottles are not recycled resulting in 38 billion bottles a year into landfill and it takes 17 million barrels of oil each year to make water bottles for the US market alone.
OZOwater intends to capture a large share of consumers who are discontent with paying exorbitant prices for bottled water and those who are demanding an alternative to environmentally damaging plastic water bottles.
After two decades of double-digit growth, the bottled water category grew less than 1% for the first half of this year. In contrast, leading tap water purification brands such as Brita and Pur reported double-digit volume and sales growth in 2008.
The OZOwater system of products are innovatively designed for use and re-use at home, in the office, on-the-go, and eating out providing high design and desirability to a category – water filters – that has done very little to engage consumers in the same alluring way as the bottled water industry. The product line will extend across the following consumer touch points:
1) On-the-go bottles (filtered and unfiltered)
2) Home & commercial water stations
3) Hospitality, office & home water pitchers & bottles
4) Tap faucet filters
OZOwater has partnered with leading design firm, the Fuse Project, founded by legendary designer Yves Béhar. Fuse Project has been listed in the top three design firms by Business Week since 2004 and were a cover story in Fast Company in 2007.
OZOwater intends to become the new indispensable prop in our lives and culture: the iPod of hydration.
