OZOlab identifies environmental problem areas in the consumer marketplace and turns them into opportunities for innovation and the creation of new ventures, challenging the current ways of doing business. We incubate our own “OZO” branded businesses, identify opportunities to invest in small but innovative green businesses, and advise large client companies on how to create value through profound sustainable innovation.

We create new ventures
OZOcar is the first in our portfolio of businesses; it is New York’s first – and America’s largest – eco-friendly town car service. The business launched in 2005 to provide the market with hybrid vehicles and a unique service experience. Clients include Goldman Sachs, Time Warner, Lehman Brothers, and Conde Nast.

OZOlife is your daily guide to smarter living. It is our second venture and the content and voice for the OZO brand. It provides education, information and a vision for smarter living to busy people who are alienated from or indifferent to deep green media and do not have the time to immerse themselves it in. The site is dedicated to sourcing, curating, and publishing the most desirable collection of sustainable lifestyle choices each day of the week.

OZOwater is a next generation filtered water beverage company that intends to become the ubiquitous and desirable #1 alternative to bottled water. It addresses the opportunity to steal a share of the $16 billion bottled water category by making quality filtered water premium, personalized and always at hand. It will provide clarity and desirability to a category – water filtration – that has done little to engage consumers but has the potential for substantial environmental impact and market growth.

OZOhome is a line of non-toxic and zero-waste packaged goods for the home. It addresses the need for sustainable packaging and supply chain innovation in the consumer packaged goods sector, and the need to make “green” easy and accessible to the average American audience. The brand will launch with a line of non-toxic cleaning products with innovative supply, packaging, and refill systems, as well as an accessible voice for the mainstream market.

OZOleaders is a component of OZOlab Consulting services. It is a four-day experiential leadership tour that connects senior leaders to other senior leaders by going behind-the-scenes to some of the worlds most innovative and sustainable organizations. In January 2009 participants go on-site to discuss and debate with best-in-class business leaders at companies including Ben & Jerry's, Timberland, Seventh Generation, Danny Meyer Group, Mascoma Corp (Clean Tech Energy) Terracycle (Tom Szeky CEO to host) and Blue Stone Hill Farm (Dan Barber to host).

 

We invest in existing ventures
OZOlab looks to invest in and/or acquire emerging sustainable “Mom and Pop” businesses with high growth potential and powerful consumer solutions. The mass consumer market is ripe for innovative green solutions and large corporations are hungry to acquire them. This need, coupled with a market imperative to provide solutions that work within the limits of the planet, mean that the OZO brand is In the business of building companies of the future.

We advise and consult to others
OZOlab provides stratgic consulting to large companies that need to drive sustainable innovation throughout their business model, supply chain, and end-user product, helping to build truly sustainable brands. The lab currently acts as a strategic advisor to The Greenery, a division of Ogilvy, informing their consumer brand and corporate clients on sustainable business transformation and product innovation.

The Greenery and OZOlab worked together to build collaborative network of “sustainability leaders” who operate across many different fields of expertise. With this network, The Greenery, with OZOlab, is able to help solve client-related sustainability challenges and to drive innovation collaboratively.
